根据报道数据，半数该专业的毕业生会进入政府机构相关的部门工作，包括地方政府、联邦调查局、警察局、边防和海关等，成为犯罪鉴定人员、犯罪心理研究员、犯罪调查员、执法人员、警务人员、狱警和假释官等。
其他三分之的学生则会选择进入私人机构工作，例如成为律师助理、私人侦探协助案件调查，处理和搜集整理相关证物等等。
